Road Trip

The week before last Bryson and I took a rode trip to Charleston with Allison and Emerson. We had such a great time, but Allison and I quickly learned that it was no vacation with 2 babies. We got to spend a lot of good time with good friends. We had dinner the first night there with the Cutters and Margaret. The next night we had dinner with Kelly Childress. On Wednesday we went to visit Mandy and Harrison. We had a great lunch and then just hung out at Mandy's house. The kids were so cute together!

Bryson liked Harrison's big boy chair.

Bryson also liked Emerson's bouncy seat.

For some reason when Bryson sleeps in his pack-n-play he turns himself sideways during the night. This is the way he woke up every morning. I thought it was funny. He looks so snug.

On the way home from Charleston we stopped by Ashley and Clayton's house in Summerville. We were able to meet sweet Tatum. Here is another cute picture of 3 babies.

Bryson's Dedication

We had Bryson's dedicaiton a couple weeks ago. It was such a sweet ceremony. Matt (the pastor that married us) did the dedication. At the end all of our friends and family gathered around us to pray for our family. It was so amazing to be able to stand before God and our loved ones and dedicate to raise our son in a Godly home, where he will know how much we love God and God loves him! He was so quiet the entire time...until Matt started praying :)

Our family with Nana, Poppy, and cousin Haley (Marshall's parents and his sister's baby).

Bryson with Poppa, Mimi, and Uncle Matt (my parents and brother).

After the dedication we had a get together at my parents house. Here is a picture of the 3 babies. Haley, Bryson and Emerson. They weren't really interested in each other but they sure were cute!

Bath time

Bryson smeems to love the water! We have been to the pool several times now and we have bath time every night. When Marshall is home during bath time, he loves to help. Abby always has to be in the middle of whatever we are doing with Bryson. He doesn't seem to mind her though.

Marshall's Day Off

Today was Marshall's first Saturday off (that we've spent at home) in awhile. We had a great family day! I feel like lately it's been just Bryson and me, or Marshall and me, not the three of us together. So, it was great to finally spend the day as a family. When we all got up we went to the Saturday Market in downtown Greenville. Bryson really enjoyed being carried by his Daddy!
Later that afternoon we went to have Bryson's 3 month pictures made (at almost 4 months). We got some really cute pictures! Marshall got him to smile a few times. After his photo shoot he was all tuckered out. He fell asleep before we left. He is so sweet! We really had a great day together as a family.

Marshall's First Father's Day

This past Sunday was Marshall's first Father's Day. We had a great day just being together. Bryson and I got Marshall a Wii for Father's Day. He totally deserved it! He is such an amazing Dad! This is a picture of Marshall and Bryson playing Wii together. Well, I was thinking it would be a fun bonding time for them one day.
That evening we went to Stax to celebrate Father's Day with Marshall's dad. Stax's is Roy's favorite restaurant. We had a great time. This is a picture of 3 generations of McCalls. This picture was taken before Bryson had a melt down. Note to self: Don't take Bryson out in public around his bedtime!

A Day in the Life of Bryson

This has been my second full week at home with Bryson. I am so thankful that I can spend all day everyday with him. We have the best time together. Maybe it's the teacher in me, but we kind of have a little schedule that we stick to. Bryson usually wakes up around 7:00. After his bottle, he has tummy time and I have coffee. He is so content just hanging out on his tummy!

After tummy time and a little play time with Mom, Bryson goes back down for a nap. He takes about 3 naps a day. During his nap time I try to get as much as possible down. I never knew I could shower, unload the dishwasher and pick up the house in an hour and a half! During the afternoon we play in Bryson's room. He has a Jumparoo horse and an activity mat that he likes to play on.

This is Bryson on his activity mat. I forgot that I had these 2 little bears that I got before he was born. He loves both of them. He likes to chew on their faces!

This week my friend Alexis invited us to her pool. Alexis has a 2 year old named Dylan. This was Dylan's old float. Bryson seemed to really like the water.

Spring

Bryson is now 3 months old. So much has happened since he was born. He has grown so much. He now weighs 13 pounds! He smiles all the time and just started laughing last week. He thinks Marshall is very funny, but has not laughed at me yet. Mom must not be funny. He can also hold his head up so well. Marshall and I think that he might roll over soon. Last night he worked for a few minutes to roll over on his side in his crib. Bryson is such a good baby. We have been able to go several places with him. We went to the Biltmore with my grandparents and we've been to Charleston twice. Here are some more recent pictures of our family.

Bryson with my grandmother, Memaw. Memaw and Papa watched Bryson for a week when they were in town and I had to go back to work.

The past 3 months have been the hardest and best 3 months of our lives. Bryson continues to change and grow daily. A lot is also going on in Marshall and my life, too. Marshall is still in school at Southern Wesleyan. He has also been doing more Grand Openings with Chick-fil-A. He just returned from one in Gaffney. I have just packed up my classroom for the last time. I am officially no longer a teacher. It was definitely bittersweet to leave Skyland! It was sad to leave, but I am so excited to be home with Bryson. I will be starting work part-time with Marshall at Chick-fil-A over the next month. I think that covers all that is going on with us right now. My new goal is to update our blog weekly, so check back soon!

Bryson is here!!!

Ok, so I'm not the best blogger....I have not posted a thing since October. But I felt like we didn't have a lot to share with people. Now we do! Bryson Marshall McCall is here! He was born on March 3, 2009 at 1:56 a.m. through an unexpected C-section. He weighed 8 lbs. and 15 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. Everyone was suprised with how big he was!

Everything about giving birth was different than what we had expected or prepared for! On Monday, March 2nd I thought that my water had broken around 8 am. Marshall and I headed for the hospital in the snow and icey roads!!! It took us a little longer to get there, but we finally made it there. When we got there, the nurses confirmed that I was leaking amniotic fluid and that the baby would be here that day!!

I was finally fully dialated by 10:00 pm. Dr. Alt thought that Bryson would be out before 12 am. After pushing for 3 hours with no real progress being made, I had a c-section. It wasn't bad at all and I was so excited to finally hold Bryson. Here are some pictures from the hospital.
